I know on the 1845C we had where I worked the ROPS and the fenders all slid ahead and made access to most of the parts pretty easy. As I recall the boom had to be raised up and supported with the safety support. Just checked and the 1845C was a 1989 so it is older than your 1840.

The starter motor on this CASE 1840 isn't turning over - it just clicks. In order to gain access to the starter, the manual says to raise the arms, lock them, then slide the cab forward. The problem is, without the motor running, we can't raise the arms. Does anyone know how to access the starter when the engine is dead?

Hi i am new to the forum and looking for someone to help with a issue i have. I have a case 1840 skid steer and i was driving along heard a faint whining noise and the machine slowed to a stop and will no longer go in forward or reverse. The loader does everything it should. The engine does not. After the small amount of repairs I've done on this 1840, I'm starting to notice that the 1840 and 1845 are pretty identical on a lot of things from the internet searching I've done. I only swapped the o-rings on the spool, but I did get the rings for the sleeve as well and I will swap those out when I do the next oil change.

I recently had the wheel bearings go bad on the left front axle housing. Taking it apart and replacing the bearings was pretty easy and straight forward, but putting it back together was a huge PAIN. 1994 Case 1840 skid steer: Blew a drive motor hose which drained the majority of the hydraulic fluid. So I decided to replace any and all hoses under the cab showing wear to hopefully avoid any more blow outs in the near future. I plan on changing the hydraulic filter as well. My question(s).
