It's the adapter between the HF engine and the shredder I'm wondering about. If the new HF engines have a 1" shaft, I won't need any adapter.. I'm about ready to buy a New Holland skid steer L185 maybe L180. The one I think i want has under two-hundred hours and is a 2006 model 185 with cab/heat, foot (standard ) controls, 2 speed, also hy flow hydraulics and was farmer . I priced a crank form the New Holland dealer and it was over 00. Even apart from the crank, the engine would need to be re-bored so I'm convinced I'm better off looking at an alternative. I have found that a Perkins 404D-22 is almost the same.

With what a new one costs, it generally wouldn't hurt to replace the engine, or rebuild it. If you are not experienced enough to undertake this endeavor, extract it and take to a reputable rebuilder. Lots of little tricks on every engine.
