I think the biggest obstacle is that normally, on a ZT or ZA the radiator outlet is on the left side of the engine and the water pump inlet on the later OHV engines it is on the right side. I have a case 41 magneto that came on my SC, and I am not getting spark at the plugs. I can place my finger between the engine and the spark plug lead, and then turn the engine to get a jolt. However, it won't light a plug.
I went all through the electrical system on my 9N replaced the voltage regulator, removed and inspected the six volt single wire generator, took it apart all looks new cleaned armature, checked continuity as shown in the FO4, checked wiring against JMOR's wiring diagram, polerized generator and. 41 N. Verify that #1 plug, closest to radiator, is in distributor cap hole where rotor is pointing when engine is at TDC-compression stroke and then the other 3 follow in a CW direction in the order 1-2-4-3.
