I am working on a JD 260 Skid Steer for a friend,,,,, What happens is,,,,, Everything is fine with this except when you release park brake switch, the alternator gauge will drop into the red,,,, apply the brake and comes back up,,,,, it locks and released just fine but,, wondering if park brake solenoid is drawing so much juice, that the alternator cannot keep . So we finally sold our Komatsu SK820-5n skid, which by the way was a great machine with good specs, and bought a JD 318D with 205 hours on it. It was purchased new by a small town near us to snowblow sidewalks and the occasional summer pothole repair. Bought this from a neighbor a year ago. Had to jump it once before a few months ago. A month ago replaced the battery as it tested weak after a charge. It started up, worked with it for about 45 minutes, shut it off in the pasture. Went out to finish the job a .
