Bought a blank 3/8" bobtach plate and 7ft or 4X4X.250 tube and welded it at a 45 degree angle to the plate. The truss design pictured converts the side loads felt by the boom when lifting a load into compression and tension loads. The top portion of the boom truss dosn't need to be as big as the main boom pole as it is in tension only. Looking to build a boom pole to put on my skid steer.
