A local machine shop recommended a height extension that the platform hooked on top of and elevated it up a given number of feet and use it that way but I can't be the only one to ever need to be slightly higher than their skid steer will lift. The idea of a ladder on the platform isn't going to happen, in this life or the next.
Im sure that each model has its own issues, but in general, what skid steer is the easiest to repair, not regular oil, and filters, but more major stuff like accessing pump, hoses, electrical harnesses, etc.

The only other considerations are in the pump flow to drive the attachments . some need a high flow pump to run. . Example would be a stone hammer or large brush mower. .
