Paid 5 for a set to fit 14 x 17.5 tires last year If you plan on using OTT what you generally do is remove the front drive chains so your wheels aren't fighting each other, only the rear ones provide power. I have seen first hand the damage they cause, took me a few weeks to repair all the damage caused. After somewhere North of 3.5 million commercial miles, many many over snow & more mtn. passes than I care to remember, in 5-9 axle configurations, unless your SS is equipped with interaxle lock, opt for chains on both front & rear. If you only got enough for one pair of wheels, opt for the fronts.
My question is does anyone run chains on their skid steer and if so do you run them on all 4 wheels or only 2. If only 2, which ones,front or rear? Any recommendations on where to get them?

Technically, when you add chains you increase the tire diameter and therefore one tire will spin quicker then the other causing drag or skidding. The plain chain ones work fine unless you are on solid ice all of the time. Chains on the rear make a huge difference in mud, ice, snow conditions.
