A user asks for help on how to access and replace the drive motor speed sensor . Usually my first go to is to pull the speed sensor. If you see metal chunks on it chances are there's an internal motor issue. My second go to is to pull the flushing spool on the motor.Customer: I have a 259d skid steer and am getting code 2688-8, which I am aware is a right drive speed sensor number 2. This sets off an alarm and is very hard to work with. How can I diagnose and fix this issue? Thanks!

Bobcat has stopped using the wheel speed sensors. There is a software update that does away with them. That is consided the fix for speed sensor problems. Last week I got this error message, "2685-8 - Left Drive Motor Speed Sensor #1 Abnormal Frequency Pulse Width or Period" After doing some keyboard research is seems like this could just be a bad connection or faulty wire.
