Just imagine if that chinese excavator makes it here, opens up shop and sells the same sized equipment for 0,000 less then the competition!!!! Then add dealer support with parts on hand. They will make a killing and the other brands will have to seriously rethink their prices, which are way too expensive anyway. In my opinion the best Excavator on the market is Komatsu. I work for a large sewer and water contractor in the Chicago area and all our excavators are Komatsu. In my 16 years as an Operating Engineer I have operated every brand of excavator and I believe the komatsu is the best. When I bought this 153 I looked at the 305CCR which was just released at that time. The CCR is much better than the previous CAT mini ex series which in my opinion was a POS. However the advantages that the 153 brings to the table over the 305 put it way over the top. The CAT did have a much nicer cab, and the angle dozer blade was cool. I want to buy small excavator about 2-2,5 tone. I just check all excavator brands near where I live. They are CAT, JCB, Komatsu, Atlas, Sany, Takeuchi, Kubota, Yanmar, Wacker Neuson, Case, Bobcat, Volvo, Doosan. Which are better . Go with a hyd. thumb would be my suggestion. I use a Werk Brau thumb and coupler and have had three of them now and like them a lot. But I would not waste the money on a rigid thumb on a mini. The aux. hyd. are all ready plumbed to the stick on most mini ex's. I think for my thumb and coupler was around 2500.
